Calyx has made a blistering start to his stud career in both hemispheres, with a Group 1-placed runner in his first crop North of the equator, and three winners from his first nine runners locally. Additionally, Earthstorm, has run four times for four placings, including at Group 3 and Group 2 level.

A talented racehorse, Calyx possessed plenty of early speed that is so well suited to Australia. He was an unbeaten Royal Ascot-winning two-year-old claiming the Group 2 Coventry Stakes. He was a brilliant sprinter at three, and his Champion trainer couldn’t speak highly enough about his charge.
“Calyx always had that rare brilliance you only see in champions. His performances at Ascot at both two and three years were of the highest standard. He is a very similar type to his sire Kingman” - John Gosden.
This colt is out of New Approach mare Try Pink, a three-time winner in her own right and she's well-related. She is a half-sister to the dam of Pink Beau Ty, also trained by Brian McGrath.

This is a well-built colt with plenty of strength and substance. He looks like an early-going type, and true to the breed, he looks like an early runner.
